Coorg happens to be a hill station.252 kms from Bangalore and 1525 m above sea level lies Madikeri, the district headquarters of Kodagu. Coorg or Kodagu(originally called Kodaimalenadu) means ‘dense forest on steep hill’. Dubbed as the Scotland of India, this town has a lot to offer to the tourist. Misty hills, lush forest, acres and acres of tea and coffee plantation, orange groves, undulating streets and breathtaking views are what make Madikeri an unforgettable holiday destination.

Started off early in the morning on friday, in a white Qualis. Me, veshan, maddy, pasri, pillu and banda…..Had an Vommala time. Nawaz and Zombie cud`nt make it. to the trip. They were “BUSY” !!

Day 1:
So, we were headed to Mysore and Coorg. We came to Srirangapatnam on the way to Mysore. This happens to be a Tipu Sultan’s death Place. Visited Ranganatha Swamy temple, then saw the Tipu`s Tomb, his dungeons and all.

WE coverd a place called Daria Daulat Bagh, which is Tipu’s two-storey summer palace, with landscaped gardens.Moving on we came across a small dam kinda thing. this was called Belamthura falls. Had a halt, changed into shorts and jumped into the waters. Spent an awsome hour or so there…..(WOW, was too good, but this was only good. Better was yet to come).

Then we reached a bird sanctuary. Didn’t find too many birds there, but had a great boat ride, with birds all over the lake. Had lunch on the way and reached Mysore by 3:00 or something. Went straight to The mysore palace and spent almost the evening there. The sculptures and the paintings were….Abbabbabbaaaa…..no words !!! Then moved on to Coorg. Reached a Place called Kushal nagar. Had a night halt there.

Day 2:
There was this place called Nisargadhama, nearby and so we planned to give a visit to that place. this place also was an excellent one. Had a boating session, ( self paddling ) for 10 mins, and a race too.

Had a cool snap session and, then moved over to a place called Dubare elephant park ( something like that ). Supposed to be a fun filled elephant ride park, but we didn’t get a chance to ride on its back. We were late. So we moved on. had lunch and then went to ABBI FALLS, probably the star attraction of our trip. had a gala time there with evryr body learning swimming. We went and sat directly under the falls, and the force with which they were striking us was tremendous. They were no softer than stones. Spent some generous 3 hours there and headed to our rooms in Madikeri.

Got cleaned up and then headed to RAJA`s Seat !! It happens to be a sunset point but we were late here too and missed the sunset. Had Bhel, and “Mamidikais” with plenty of chili powder (on Banda’s request) which made all the mouths run for water. Came back to our rooms, saw Bangladesh smash all over the fences and expecting a decent win by SA, crashed.

Day 3:
Got up and saw that the Proteans were given a Bengal Bashing !! Got ready and went to “Omkareshwar temple”, and then to a fort in Madikeri. Nothing impressive but had some beautiful snaps. We came back to room and packed our luggage and left for Buddhist Monastery (Golden Temple) . This was a Tibetans settlement area. The temple was amazing !! A very very tall statue of Lord Buddha.

Did some shopping in the stalls around the monastery and headed our way home.
Reached Bangalore in the evening at around 8 o’ clock.
